“As one of the trustees of Universal Chance I knew I’d have no excuse to not take part in our first fundraising event.
So when the idea of a white collar amateur boxing gala came about you may be surprised to hear I was quite excited. Having been an arm chair boxing fan for years I’ve often sat thinking ‘I could do that’ or ‘how can they be tired after 6 rounds?’ or on the odd occasion … ‘I reckon I could take him on!’
10 minutes into our first training session and those thoughts had been well and truly killed off along with my will to live. The training has been a real eye opener, harder than anything I have ever done before. Fortunately my body has slowly adapted to the punishment and given the great cause we are fighting for there was never a chance of me quitting.
